Cruising Photo of the Week (Outtakes) #17

Speedboats for snorkeling in the Andaman Sea at Thailand’s Phi Phi Islands is this week’s outtake from my book, ‘Cruising the World – From Gondolas to Megaships.’

Many day cruises to the tropical Phi Phi Islands from Phuket or Krabi include either snorkeling or scuba diving among coral gardens at Lohsamah and Monkey Bay. Until 2018 cruises often included some time at Maya Bay on Phi Phi Leh, made much-too-famous by the Leonardo DiCaprio film “The Beach.” Around 5,000 tourists per day were spoiling the bay’s coral reefs, sea life, and white sand resulting in officials banning visits until 2021.

PLEASE NOTE: Copies of ‘Cruising the World’ are now available with free shipping – code SHIPFREE – at www.DennisCox.com. Order one for yourself and one or more to give to friends and receive a 10% discount plus free shipping with code GIFT10.
