This week’s outtake from ‘Cruising the World – From Gondolas to Megaships’ shows passengers on the bow of the Celebrity Constellation during a transit through the Suez Canal on an Arabian Sea cruise from Abu Dhabi to Rome. Just ahead was Cunard’s Queen Mary 2, once the world’s largest passenger ship.
Affectionately known as “Connie,” the 2,184-passenger Constellation is perennially popular with cruisers for it’s friendly crew and varied itineraries, particularly around the Mediterranean. Due for a full refurbishment in May 2020, including fully redesigned staterooms, the makeover has been delayed until 2023 due to the pandemic.
